can anyone tell me are the cv joints in a mq the same as a gq also will the cvs out of any gq modle fit all other gqs ie leaf sprung petrol trayback into diesal 4.2 wagon I no the front diffs are different in that the leaf sprung tray backs are bigger but only looking to find replacement cvs and wendle have you heard anymore about a con version to uni joints for gqs

the MQ cvs are smaller - 29 spline versus 31 spline.
All the GQ ones are the same apart from the early, skinny utes that still ran the c200 front.

that is the ute that is halfway between the GQ and the MQ (Called a GQ but to the naked eye you would swear its a inbred MQ/GQ hybrid)

I am amazed at how much it takes to break the stock ones. Watched Cal in reverse uphill about 30deg (rear wheels were around 6ft higher than the front), full lock RH down, front locker in, trying to bounce a front tyre (37") out of a hole between 2 rocks (very grippy rock) and it bounced and got air a good half dozen times before the CV let go...

Im going to try and get in touch with the guy in canada who is doing smurfields if he can do them cheap as it sounds i could have 2 super tuff cvs for the price of 1 original they are $165 each here in WA
