Changing Diff Oil

Post by Spinner »

Guys,

I went to change my diff oils in the Frontera on the weekend, but when I got underneath I noticed there are no drain plugs only filler plugs. I had to use a sludge pump to extract the oil from the filling holes. Is this the way to do it or am I missing something. :?: My other 4WDs had drain plugs

Thanks,
Wayne.

There should one of the bolts, that hold the centre in that has a copper washer on it, this is a drain.... the only thing is when you do it it is very slow so have a couple of beers while waiting. :D

Yarno, is this actually the way to drain the oil?

I was servicing my Brother in laws Frontera yesterday & had the same problem as Dipstick. I thought, ok, its just the same as my Dunnydore & it will drain from the bottom bolt for the housing. I removed this bolt & nothing came out.

Do you or anyone else know exactly the procedure for draining the front & rear diff oils in a Frontera? (honest question, not trying to discredit what you say in the above post).
Don't ask me, ask them. I'm just runnin for my life myself.
Well they are all following you...
No they ain't, I'm just in front...............
