R151 extension housings

Post by slosh »

I'm putting a td Bundera gearbox into my hilux and have the option of using the bundera extension housing and transfer (means crossmember mount is 110mm forward than stock hilux)

OR

finding an extension housing from 100 or 79 series diesel box and using the matching transfer case. Would the extension housing on these babies be longer than the bundera? I'm trying to minimise shortening the front driveshaft with this idea if possible.

I have been making this adaptor for about 5 years now
I have been grafting the Hilux to Bundera housings together so you keep the geardrive transfer case
This all fits back in like the original Hilux configeration it sits on the cross member without being modified tail shaft stays the same and gear levers come through the original hole in the floor
I also have a 21/23 spline coupler to marry these tother
If you dont have a body lift you will need to space the crassmember down 2cm

I understand this to mean you graft extension housing from behind g52 gearbox to Bundera extension housing so that it is possible to mate a R15# gearbox to Hilux gear transfer?

I want to keep the Bundera transfer case as my truck has 80 series diffs and the rear shaft will line up better. So if you can extend the Bundera extension housing I would be interested.

Josh.
