Have Dual Fuel at the moment - Petrol/Gas in my GQ - As I don't ever intend on touring & Power is not a problem, What do I need to change To Run on Lpg Permantley. Is currently not running on Fuel due to fuel pump issues & I have no intent on fixing it. TB42 - Tank & converter 6 months Old - Just had Head Done.
Ultimately I want to discard of petrol system completely & Put scuba-type tanks In place of Current Petrol Tank to substitute 120ltr Lpg.
Straight LPG is definatly the way to go. Itll go heaps better once the Dizzy is retuned for lpg . I have 2 cars runing straight lpg now and im super happy with them. Even my 22r Toyota motor running straight lpg using a fuel injection manifold perfroms heaps better than it used to lpg/carby. And i havent got the dizzy regraphed yet.
Leagally you can get rid of most emmissions inc Cat convertor and LEAGALLY run an airpod filter. You do need to get a blue slip stating that it has been converted to LPG only. They only check this issue so dont worry too much.
Rebuilding a stock head and it not being suitable for LPG is only applicable to Leaded engines or those with Iron heads.
ALL Unleaded motors and Alloy heads are already suitable for LPG, no new valve seats or extra ripoff valve lubricant needed.
Unleaded is non lubricating fuel, just like LPG.

Forget the 'scuba tanks' idea for starters....... it will COST BIG $$$$$ & you wont get the 120odd lits of extra fuel anyway !
( best option here is to search the wreckers yards and have the tanks re-certified..... if ya can find em ! )

I've discussed this before but cant recall the thread tittle so you'll have to search for LPG INJECTION.... even more power & economy over straight gas carbys !!

For a cheap alternative to a gas carby try a diesel throttle body,,, principle is exactly the same.

Also, I'm gonna have a go at raising the lpg tank into the space created after the 2" body lift. Anyone successfully done this?any suggestions?any pics?
p.s. completely off the topic, when i quote somebody how do i make it say 'soanso wrote:' instead of just saying 'quote:'?

Wanted: Car trailer or beaver tail truck, let me know what you got
I just put an efi throttle body onto a holden red six manifold - straight gas. The difference is huge, looking at the size of the TB you would rekon it's way too big, but works well.
Also - now i am straight gas, I am thinking about getting some fork lift gas tanks to use as gas jerry cans for extended range. Has any one done this ? Legal ? Fittings ?
