Hey guys,
I currently have a 2LT motor in my LN106 Hilux.
On start up, it takes a fair bit of cranking to get started - maybe 2 to 3 goes. I think I need new glow plugs.
And then, when it finally starts up, it blows white smoke everywhere, however, after approximately 10 seconds the white smoke disappears.
What does this "white smoke" signify ?
Cheers.

White smoke on start up ?

As you suspect, it will either be a problem with the glow system, perhaps 1 or 2 glow plugs arent firing up, or you have low compression. I'd be checking all your glow plugs first.... White smoke indicates excessive unburnt fuel from poor combustion.
If you want a spare 60 for bits-
