33's on a 93 hilux

Post by brad 93hilux »

Hi, i have a 93 hilux and have bought cooper stt 33/12.5r15 with 10" deep dish sunrasers, Currently i have 31's on and they hit the guards on full lock and when the suspension is fully up...

What i was wondering is weather i can fit them under with a 2 or 3" suspension lift, i want to keep away from body lift because then i have to lift the side rails and bull bar.

Is this possible?
thanks brad

Yep, they fit. My rear of my front wheel arches touched a bit but were easy to move :D

I also have 15 x 10s with 33's with a 3 inch lift with no body. Lifted each wheel with a fork lift and doesn't touch anywhere.

or redrill one of the spring perches, the other one already has two holes, and move the diff fwd about 20-25mm, this will aid the problem.

yeh i was thinking of 3" lift would be better, what do you mean by a fork lift?

with a 3" lift kit you get shocks, springs, new u bolts? is that correct, then all you need to do more is extend the brake lines...?

A spring perch is a the flat lookin bracket that is welded to your diff and the bottom of the leaf spring sits on it the u-bolts clamp round it

On the passengers side perch it has three holes if you use the back hole and drill one in the drivers side perch the same distance as the passengers one...

then when you put the spring locating bolt back into these holes it will move your diff forward....

Big thing, sometimes yellow, used to lift heavy things :D

I meant to say that I used a forklift to lift each wheel to see if they hit anywhere when articulated !

I see what you mean now, with moving the diff forward that set of holes (20-25mm) does this cause any problems wit steering or shocks, or the fact that the bumpstops look like they will be out of alignment???

Why not a body lift ?????
I did the body lift, lifted the bull bar & left the rails & steps where they were, this gave me more crunch clearence & dosnt look funny at all

I did the body lift myself & got the bar lifted x supereior engeneing
costed under $500 ,not even close to scrubing & is legal.

Are you running 33/12.5, do you have suspension lift as well or jst body lift, how big have you gone?

Will going 2" suspension and 1" extended shackles be the same as 3" suspension lift? with extended shackles do they give you more articulation because they can swing up and down further....
Thanks

I have a 92 hilux with33 x 12.5 Mudzillars,i have a 2 inch body a 2 inch efs kit and front 2 inch extended shackels and my tyres still scrub when the wheel is fully compressed in a full lock turn, its not enough to cause any dramas but even by putting in the extended shackells made no difference ,,buy putting your rear springs in the front this should relocate your diff forward and allow for 35s,my next project.

Brad iam running 33" mtrs & have 2" lifted cross country springs (2years old). the only place the tyres hit is on the springs at full lock. this could be fixed by screwing out the stopper but it his handy to have more lock when needed. Or i could run 5mm wheel spacers but i have heard they make the wheel nuts come loose & it dosent bother me.
