35s on a 3lt gu patrol

just wondering if a GU ll 3ltr TD auto will be able to run 35 inch tyres power wise

yer of got a st nissan i run 35 it is habit hard start of if your on a hill put in a auto will make it a bit easyer than a manully

with an auto it should be fine, but id look at getting 4:88s or similar if your gona do some hard off road work.

thats what im going to be putting in mine in a few weeks hopefully..

Bogged would know about this doesn't he REALLY want to buy a 3lt Gu ?? :lol:

I have a few friends who have these in there GU's. THey are really happy with the onroad manners but hate the offroad low range action, even with around 33's. They find the gearing too tall and it likes to run away on them down hills ~ can't get it to crawl slow enough..

I think you would be considering crawler gears or a R&P ratio change to 4.88's...

what diff ratio does the 3lt run std?

i run 33" and 35" (4.5 auto , 3.9rp) even the 33's are crap off road going down hills and struggles on steep inclines , but than i got a set of marks gears %85 reduction and the 35 are sweet as off road , but on road still sucks, so were going 4.6 rp as well .

it would depend on what terrain you plan on driving , but i personaly think it will struggle to perform with std gearing and 35"s BUT it will look sweet ! :D

I got 3 lt auto and run 33's for play. it runs away something shocking, ok in low up hills. I rekon that 35's would run away pretty fierce so if you like going slow down hill - dont get em. power wise you'd turn em but it'd be a bit of a struggle sometimes, especially in high, on road. They run 4.3's in diff. clearance could possibly offset gearing issues, other thing is with 2" lift you may have some pretty seroius clearance probs

i run a 2" lift with the front diff moved 12mm forward with toy off set rims and have bugger all rub (does slightly on inside rear arch ) and thats on the bump stops , in fact my 35s rub less than my 33"s on std rims .
if its worth doing do it intensly , better still do it with MADPASSION
