Airbag in GU DX coilcab?

I'm looking at getting myself a GU DX non-turbo (wana put the ballbearing Garret on it) ute pre 02 mod & I was wondering if they have drivers side airbags as I'm looking at getting a custom bar made for it :?!

Any opinions on the Garret setup for the non-turbo would be good too (ie; performance, heating probs, anything else to look out for aswell :? !

my GU DX does not have an airbag, but i think they put them in all after 2003 perhaps??

why not just get anyting above 11/02 as the turbo will help a bit but the later model have a bigger pump.

i wouldnt be to stressed wether it has air bags either they can be removed and most dx dont come with air bags anyway only ST

I'm looking at the pre 02 model because they're in my price range :?...

As for the airbag bizo, it's mainly an insurance issue :?. Whilst I know I'll be bending the rules here & there anyway, I wana minimise the risks should the shit hit the fan :roll:...

legally i think if it was an option and not factory on your model than your alowed to disable them. something along those lines anyway

gday mate, my 2001 gu dx has no air bags , but it is the turbo version. If you are lookin for one try the regional centres they had plenty of second hand ones when I brought mine new in Goulburn and they delivered it to Sydney. cheers Mark

my 2000 coil cab ST has no airbags, my mates 2003 coilcab ST has no airbags

none of the cab chassis have airbags

my 04 dx ute doesnt have the air bag..good isnt it

My '05 ST coil cab ute does not have airbags either.
They don't come with them because ute drivers are more responsible and don't need them! :rofl:
