I done an 80 series one the other week and was ~$200 for the genuine Toyota seal kit ( i only needed the pitman shaft seal but you have to buy the kit with all seals for the whole box)and if your not careful or experienced in working with hydrualic seals go to a specialist as the teflon seals can be easily damaged. You also need the factory manual as some of the parts need to be assembled in a certain way and certian position.

Just did the high pressure seal on my Rodeo steering box. Lucky for me it is an external seal so I didn't have to pull the box apart.
I got the Teflon seal from an auto hydraulics repairer, didn't have to buy the whole kit but the little seal was 45 bucks alone.
With teflon seals make sure everything is clinically clean and dry before you slide it on, the teflon actually coats the shaft it's contacting as it rotates, and like 80UTE said some have to be put on a certain way so they dont get damaged. I didn't have the you beaut Holden special tool so I made one, like, who's gonna buy a $150 seal installer for 1 specific seal, not the home mechanic.
Get a workshop manual Mick if you haven't and see how yours is done, it might not be that hard

I'm in the same boat. My 80 series is leaking from the input shaft seal on the steering box. Can I purchase individual seals or a whole kit from you?
I'm in Melbourne, so if you could include express postage price.
It's a 1995 80, with 1hz engine. Any other details required?
Also, Is it a job any mechanic could handle, or would it require a specialist in steering/hydraulics?

not a bad leak but enough to annoy me so I'm going to get it fixed next week.
I know nothing about steering boxes............
