The rear bar looks good. Where did you get it from?

Hi Mick,

I love the draw system you have and it looks even easy for me to put together. I noticed your tail gate carpet you have on which is lifting. I can not see how you held it on Glued/screwed but i did not want to glue mine so see pic how i got mine to stay there.

I unscrewed the 12 screws that hold on the panel on the inside of the tailgate which you get to the lights and wiring in there. And just screwed it back on through the carpet.

Ignore me if this is how you did it as i can not see the screws on yorur carpet. Mine has been on there for a few months and draging boxes and stuff cause no drama's wit it lifting.

I am about to order a new 06 Hilux Silver SR5 D4D Auto tonight...

I also have the go ahead from the wife to get the mods done right away once it's delivered too :) (Don't ask how I've managed that!)

ARB Winch Bullbar
Tabor 9000lb Warn Winch
Front and Rear ARB Diff Locks
Suspension Lift 40mm front and 50mm rear by Blue max
Safari Snorkel
Dual Battery System (Marine Batt, RedArc Isolator)
ARB Rear tow bar
Tyres (BF Goodrich AT (maybe MT's))
Long range replacement fuel tank 130l (by K&N)
ARB low canopy
Storage Draws (custom made)

I already have this stuff coming out of my 80 series going into the lux:

Pioneer DVD/Touch Screen stereo
Extra rear screens for kids
Waeco fridge slide
Waeco 50l fridge
GME TX3600 UHF
240v Inverter

Future mods:

Overhead roof console
Ditronic
Exhaust (maybe)
4" lift with 33's (maybe but doubt it)

Looking forward to having a new vehicle again!

Thanks Dave..

Roly, yeah I ended up going for the auto, I wasn't too keen on the throttle response with the manual... I had almost went for the new Navara, it has loads more grunt but have decided on the D4D.. the design of the D4D is much better I reckon.

Cheers

Oh your going to love your new Lux mate and yep silver is the best colour.

I found organising all the mods through Toyota worked out heaps cheaper. They get it all at dealers rates and then pass most of the savings onto u eg. saved $300 off retail on ARB Winch bar, $100 on spotties etc.

Yeah i read about the new Navara's and they do sound like a good thing. Comparable to Hilux i would think. If there was a better feature, it was only a small thing and really wouldn't matter....and then Hilux would come back with something better in another area. The thing the magazines did rave about was the extra kw's and torque. What they didn't mention was that it does all come from a 2.5 litre motor which obviously does have to work harder to do that (little) bit extra. I would wonder about the long term motor and turbo wear from the smaller donk. Considering that the older 3L Navara's turbo is wound up to 29 pounds (heard that from a Nissan mech). What would the new T/D be wound to?

Having said that..... what is the Hilux turbo wound up to?
Maybe i'm just a bit concerned but it does sound a bit much for a little diesel motor....but then.... i'm no mechanic :?

Who's has a view on this?

Fitted the DTRONIC tuesday night.

Makes a nice difference to the torque, it pulls like a train now (it wasn't slow beforehand either)

You go from 120kw to 142kw
Go from 343nM to 412nM
It would be a DP 31

DP-31
This DPChip is extremely compact around the size of a small mobile phone and is used on Common-rail injected diesels such BMW X5 and Mercedes CRD engines. It features a harness with original plugs for ease of fitting and is pre-set to your vehilce by us. Further adjustable tuning is possible, either manually with the10 pre-programmed power setting dial (as shown in the picture) or electronically via lap top tuning (at our premises or one of our official distributors). This DPChip has several unique features such as the laptop tuning and easy to fit plugs. Fitting takes less than twenty minutes on most vehicles.

If you want some more info check the for sale section DP Chip page 2 when writing this
30 day money back gaurantee & 5 year warrenty
Price special at the moment $1250 delivered to your door by Australia Post.
Ive research for a long time before i bought one reading what people have written & reports thhat have been done. I was so impressed with mine i become a disributor for them. Its like a whole new car to drive.
Let us know if you would like normally would have it delivered within 2 days from receiving money depend on where you r

As far as your warrenty its like any other accessory its an arguble point ive shown toyota in albury & they said they would have no way of testing to find it as it hooks up in parraelle to the main computer.Remember it can be just unpluged. I'm actually trying to get Hino & Toyota in albury / wodonga to sell it as an option.
Putting it on a 3000km old 100 series on thursday. My brothers brand new hilux in 4 weeks when it turns up as he has seen the differance in mine
If you have an email i can send you a pic of what the chip looks like & the dyno report for a new hilux
Cheers Dan mudooo@bigpond.net.au
PS Guts will post up some pics for me tomorrow as he knows a way. Pic of the chip & dyno report thanks Guts
