OK ! Just heard from the Spectator convoy as they passed through mobile coverage on their way back to camp (just outside Broken Hill).

Contrary to my previous advice, Graeme and Jeff (in THE HULK) are in GROUP B – along with some event veterans such as Kim Bolton, Cass Jones and Roger Smith. After finishing the two quarry stages yesterday, the boys headed to Nundooka for a night Nav run. Unfortunately, a busted shock mount put an early end to their charge and they suffered their first DNF. This morning saw another Nav run. With the shock mount repaired, “The Hulk” was far easier to handle and they managed to complete the course within DNF time.

The next event (their 6th) was a VERY unhappy one with a carnage count of a broken tail shaft, a molten vacuum hose (front locker) and a soft roll over – which pushed the snorkel into the windscreen, smashing it. Their final event today, before doing a transport run to Poolamacca, was the famous Warn Cliff Hanger winch wall – which they completed within DNF time also.

Graeme and Jeff are in good spirits, although a little tired after only few hours sleep last night, courtesy of an early AM finish to the night Nav run.

Apparently one of our spectator vehicles had a near miss on the road tonight with one of the Yank teams driving a Disco. It seems that in Australia we all drive on the wrong side of the road !!!!

Should have some more to report late tomorrow as the Teams all congregate back at Broken Hill in preparation for Wednesday’s SS’s.

BTW, the Kiwi cruiser (Bundera ?) is in Group B with our mob - I asked the crew to keep an eye out for them and feed me any info they could to keep our next door neighbours in the loop !

Hi belinda, Andrew..
So true.. It wouldn't be so bad if I knew what was happening..
All must be well though... Andrew & Wazza built one hell of a fully sick truck. Like I said last night their a good team. Just wish I knew how the "TEAM" was going.....
Had a look on the On-track sight. Nothing on today yet.

Anyone heard anything on Ontrack 4x4 club members from Melb??

When we left Sunday arvo, Kill Bill was out.
Engine had a bad knocking sound, main bearing perhaps, or rod.
Sandy did a long side CV on Sat night's stage, easy fix.
Stu's car doing very well, as is Darren Greens.

I'll post up some pics soon.

Hell yeah girl....
Hey as soon as I hit enter my phone rang...
Did mad rush down stairs-Comando style...
It was Pete..... Yea.....

Update as follows....
Pete and Wazza are in group B.
They just oulled in at pack saddle to re fuel.
Car is holding up to his Chaotic driving. One slight problem. It seems there is demons in the car somewhere. On the night stage it just cut out 6times for no obvious reason. Lost about 45min but still cleared DNF time.
They have been driving all day today and it's only done it once and started after 5min.

WORD IN THE OUT BACK- Heard through the gapevine....
*Quiet a few teams have apparently blown winch motors.
*Mud is apparently up to chin height at viewmont (LOTS OF DNF's)
*Few drowned motors in the field.

I tried to find out about other teams.... There wasn't much time sorr guy's.
There is a Blue 40 series??? From N.Z. Who are apparently doing very well.

By the way thanks for the info on Ontrack members... Much appreciated!

Joe.. last night pete quickly mentioned to Karly that the water/mud is neck high and so far one got through and the rest DNF.... I hope Hoon & Wazza make it!! I'm soooo nervous for them, especially when we don't hear from them... :?

Lets hope its Pete's neck and not Wazza's then

I dont think we will here from them until Wednesday night Bel as they will probably do the sand at Denean tomorow and travel back through B Hill in the evening.

there are some crazy units there this year

got back late last night, went out to Menindee on sunday night, lot of mud.

mani's died i did not hear it start up again and i would have heard it. the US guys in the bob tail died a few of the others did as well. darren and huddy were the only ones to come in inside the DNF time @ 8min (DNF time is 10 min), jeff redman was fist through did a great job as first car through. for 14min

i can't see this stage getting any easier as the groups go through. this is definatly going to favour the guys with the big winches.

i didn't take any pics as to dark
