i got an '84 MK Patrol SWB sd33t, how can i tell what diff ratios have i got ?
yep, 4.3: 1paj.NH wrote:Had a look this avo at the compliance plate and its HG43..........thanks for your help guys...
generally you can go off the following...
Most patrols with the L28 motor are 4.6:1
most SD33 desiel are 4.6:1
SD33T most are 4.3:1
P40 most are 4.1:1
there are exceptions to all of these.... people swap diffs out.... and sometimes you find different ratios in different models depending on transfercase and the year model....
but the above are the more common.

diffs
every SWB SD33T 84 I have owned unless it has had diffs removed has been 4.33 LSD...... the LWB just don't like em - hill starts become a pain with 4.33 in a LWB as I found out - good on freeway but suck round town hey.
