im trying to work out the best spot to drill holes for the crush tubes

This how I am doing mine.
It's an IFS Box relocated on a IFS chasis.
SAS.
I have more pics to come as I am making up Chasis Plates and crush tubes to strengthen chasis due to increased force of Cross over steering.
It may give you an idea on what to do.
The pitman arm is from a 80 series cruiser.

Only thing 80 series is the pitman arm.

The location that you want is as far forward as possible (ie bash/cut out the radiator support panel helps) then tilted so that the TRE only just clears the chassis. Then drill to suit.

why not use a 60s steering box? the pitman arm is pointing forwards so youll get the drag link further forward than you ever will with an ifs box, and you wont have to hack into the radiator mount.
