buggered door/window

Post by mlzook »

I'm having this problem where my window often falls out of it's track. It does it if i shut the door too hard or if I'm on a really rough road with my window down. I can pull the trim off and fix it up but it's only a quick fix!
Is there anything i can do to permanantly fix this short of buying a new door?!?!

For some reason I think Podge will sort me out in no time. But I'll take advice from any bandit!!!!!!

, check that the mechanism isnt buggered inside, and make sure all the screws are up tight,

next thing is to get soem window trim from and automotive place and replace the old crap stuff..

should be under 50 bucks.

That felt stuff they use is a joke! Try and get some a rubber one if you can.

I had this happen after one too many bangs to the door.
Not only were the screws loose, the tracks that the window runs in were bent, thus window fell out.
As stated, the felt stuff aint too good.

Also the weight of the glass is more to the front, and this causes wear in the joints, I had to space up the front of the winow, to get it too wind up straight.

My passenger side has never been a problem, probably less used.

i had the same issue on my passanger side, first piss whats left of that felt off its useless, you know how it has its little adustment screw well undo that, move it accross until it is now in the rite spot without the adjustment screw, get out the cordless and smash a techi in, works a treat never had a problem since,

I appreciate the sentiments. I'm thinking the problem will either relate to the door glass channel (bailey channel) being worn or torn, or the winder mechanism is RS. Falling short of that, you might have done what I did at the Nissan Trials a few years ago and put bit of a dent in the door which through everything out of whack.
