WA Manjimup Motomadness '06 *With Pics*

Post by ausyota »

Well I know this is a bit early but I am just letting people know to keep the Saturday of the June longweekend free to come down to Manjimup for our Motomadness event.
Pics and details from last years event can be seen here
http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modul ... otomadness

This year we plan on have a 4wd obsticle course double the size of last years (which was a bit short :) ). I have some more earth moving sponsors this year to help build it and and clean up afterwards.

I will be making 2 short circuts one to suit stockers one that is a bit more hardcore. Everyone can start on the easy circut (mud and ruts etc) and if they want can do the next harder bit (rocks, logs deep ruts and a big sloppy mud hole).

Should be a fun weekend if we can get a bunch of people down.
Can arange a trip somewhere on the Sunday if people are keen or can go to the Manjimup 15000 MotoX race.

More info later
Cheers
Paul.

OK first up there is a few rules

1. At least one good tow point front and rear.

2. Bring your own snatch strap (We will have recovery gear on hand on the day but prefer if you bring your own)

3. Low range only

4. On the day you will need to sign a waiver form saying if you fawk up its your own problem.

This is not a comp.
It cant be due to insurance reasons. It is a 4wding "display"
There will be a best 4wd award for the day, not sure what that will be at this stage but wont be anything huge.

Just be aware that this is only a very small course. I dont want to get peoples expectation up too high. But it is a great bit of fun and the rest of the show is good to look at too.
We have cars, trucks, hot rods, drag cars, motobikes, harleys, freestyle motox jumps, RC car jumps, engine blow up comp, maybe a finalli burnout(last year 2 brand spanker harleys fried the tyes on the back of a truck) as well as the 4wds.

Entry to the show is FREE.

Cost to play on 4wd track is $5 and you can go as many times as you want all day (just get in line).

As the day draws on we will do things like reverse the rotation on the track to spice things up and have a water tanker on hand to fill up the water holes

I will organise a place to camp and have a bonfire if people from Perth want to make a weekend out of it.

Paul.

Unfortunatly we can only drive the course on the Saturday (public liabl bullshit).
But we can either go watch the motox on the sunday or head off for a drive somewhere challenging.

You recon signing the waiver form is bad you should the pages and pages of crap we have to fill out for our insurance. Just for a one day show.
Add to that that all the paper work the local shire is requiring as well.

Oh and the actual date is Sat the 3rd of june :).

OK some may have heard that the Manjimup 15000 motocross race is off.
Well they are still having a motocross event, it just wont be the full international event they have had in past years.

This does not effect our event the Manjimup Motomadness!
We will still have our show in full swing!

This week I will be sending out invitation letters to every WA 4WD club I can find to try and get a few more people involved in the fun :D
If you are in a club let me know the address and I will send a nice letter with some pics out to you.

Also if you could just help us by word of mouth it would be great. Tell your mates, Tell your family, Tell your goats, whatever  .

www.motomadness.com.au is our web page take a look (no 4wd pics there yet as we are waiting on an update  ).

Well I have bad news. The Motocross race is off completely :?

So now we have to really make Motomadness a kick arse event to prove it can stand on its own two feet!!!
We are looking at trying to round up a bit more funding so we can get a few more performers for the show. (Dont spoze anyone has a globe of death they wanna bring down :) )
Anyway lets show that WA 4wders can get behind an event and have a bit of fun at the same time! and no motocross means we can definatly go for a 4wd on the Sunday

BTT
Well now I have a bit of GOOD news :)
The local speedway club is organising a tractor pull and burnout comp for the Saturday night after the Motomadness show!!!
Should be a good bit of fun.

I have also been busy convincing people to have a go at the 4WD track and have managed to talk a local guy into putting his 4WD flatop truck (complete with Simex JT treads) into the course at least for the mud bits anyway

We have seen a sample video of the freestyle riders that are coming this year and it has a few clips of them doing backflips! so lets just hope they will chuck one of those for the show.

Well a great time was had by all on the day.
The weather was perfect and I think I managed to build the course with just the right amount of dificulty without causing too much carnage.
