As in twin sierra cases, or Vit case to sierra. there are a few vit to sierra case pics, check zook 60's thread, big zook (old gonads rig, case for sale too). Or search, as this has come up before a few times. Antt was looking at buildind one, so maybe shoot him a PM.

Antt has built 1 its in his newly reconstructed Vit ....shoot him a pm as layton said im sure he has plenty piccys
As the same as Jake would maybe jake might sell his setup since his old rig is off the road it seems
Although both of these setups as said above are sierra / Vitara combos
not usre of any1 using dual sierra cases but i think the above option is far superior for ease of build andcan be done with little to no jack shaft between the two cases so that = less vibes

im yet to hear of anyone running duel transfers in a sierra that have been able to set it up in a way that there is no vibration, drive shafts stay at respectable angles and there is normal wear in the cases. however this thread may reveal some. for the same set up cost you could have a rockhopper with 6.5:1 rather then duels with only around 4:1 gearing. to pay someone ie 4play offroad to do the install last I heard was about $4000 which is about 3 sets of reduction gears if you had that much bad luck.

Do you REALLY want twin cases?evo wagon wrote:hey guys anyone have any pics of twin transfer setups in sierras using suzi transfers. just curious to see what it looks like. any info would be great thanks. tried to search but nothing came up.
Looked at them for my zook, lots of work = lots of hours i didn't have. So just went series 3's. Most reduction gears for sierra do high range as well. So didn't see the real need for duals. If you want mid range gearing change up a gear in your gearbox.
Have twin transfers in my Hilux, it has twin transfers, the reduction gears available do not affect high range so the duals can be handy. There is also an adaptor off the shelf so its quite easy.

Re: twin transfers
Here's a pic I have of suzuki setup- not mine- on a US site. I'll get the digital out tonight and take some of mine- 1.6 mated to a 1.3 behind 1.6L gearbox.evo wagon wrote:hey guys anyone have any pics of twin transfer setups in sierras using suzi transfers. just curious to see what it looks like. any info would be great thanks. tried to search but nothing came up.

As said already, to be honest a set of reduction gears would be the best option for you. Making twin transfers with both sierra cases would be a pain in the arse, as the rear drive of a sierra case is offset, unlike a vit case which is straight out the back and high on the case. A set of 5.14 gears would solve your problem, and $$ would prob work out the same, esp if you have a short WB as with dual cases you rear shaft would be damn short unless you stretch the rear out. Jakes WB was around 106inch i think.evo wagon wrote:hey thanks guys for the help and pics. i have a drover which uses a sperate transfer with a 4age twin cam and auto just looking at trying to redusce the gears as going down hill in the auto is a bit to fast so i had a spare transfer that i wanted to put in so i am after sierra to sierra transfer set ups thanks guys.

what auto are you running behind the ge?, aus spec 4ac 3spd (trimatic ??)or jap ge 4spd ?
as others have said the sierra to sierra won't work due to offset input outputs
an early 1 litre small type as a front transfer may be doable but i don't think so .
also what diffs are you using in it
if its a trimatic there may be other transfer options to look at
cheers drew
it seems ge gze zuks are getting more common these days

(what auto are you running behind the ge?, aus spec 4ac 3spd (trimatic ??)or jap ge 4spd ? )
running a jap spec 3 speed trimatic which has a kick down cable coming of it. using 84 hilux diffs (soon to go in) with coil spring set up so i can move the diffs right back and right forward.

QOUTE:
you may be able to use a hilux trans case as well.
you will have to check part no's on the box if its a jap box a surf extension housing may bolt straight up ??
depending where you are i might be able to check it out.
mine is coiled with lux diffs & putting a lux gearboxtrans/case in it now
now
i am located in north side of brisbane how did you go put coils in with lux diffs, as i am planning to do the same as well so if you could give me some pics that would be great thanks for your info bro.

I am yet to see a dual transfer set up that has a real practical advantage over transfer reduction gears in a sierra. On paper they look cool (and I started to do it approx 10 years ago, but after a while you will realise that 1.86 times the stock sierra low range still sucks once you get enough tyre under a sierra. that's why everyone is going to 6:1's doing 100 times the work or 4 times the cost to end up with 4:1 is just not worth it.
There (might be) an advantage for a vitara if you stick a sierra transfer behind the vitara one as the indirect high range will compensate for bigger tyres on road, but IMHO the only way to do it is with a OTT kicker. Any other way will flog out transfer cases and/or be a big bulky bootyfab mess.
I like the way that the kicker ditches the lever arrangement on the vit case along with the front output which is the part of the reason that the whole thing turns into a mess.
Steve.
