What suspension set up?
What suspension set up?
Hi all.
As u can tell by the number of posts i am a newbie . I was wanting your thoughts on what suspension set up i should get for my 92 swb sierra. I am wanting just a good all-round setup so i can drive a bit of everything but not the hardest of these. I also need the set-up to be legal in Qld (so i believe spring over is out of the question). My zook already has a 2 inch body lift and 31's so i just want more wheel travel with the 31's.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers

Nice wheels but I can't stand the side graphics - looked crap on GSXR's and still look crap on Sierras....
I was thinking about taking them off and this just helped me make my mind up! Cheers
They're bloody expensive to replace so only take em off if you're sure you dont want them.

Buy an Old Man Emu kit from ARB... it'll bolt straight on with no welding / cutting changes required and will last a long time.

Macy,
That is the spook I was thinking of. A mate of mine bought it late last year. He bought it for a show pony thing but it only lasted for a few months....I believe that this vehicle has been sprung over a few years ago hense why the body lift and standard springs are there. I will try to find a pic of it back then because i am sure that it had lockers and bars on it as well. Not a bad vehicle for the right $$$$.. If it were mine, I would remove the body lift and throw a big balls suspension kit at it...And change the wheel size because they are so gutless with the 1300 and 31inch rubber....
Thats my 2 cents anyway...

what would you change the wheels for? it would look funny as with lift an small tyres
i can hold 5th gear on any hill with the 1300 an 31's plus rockhopper

What i meant was I believe the car to have 3 inch body lift.... therefore illegal, tyres stick 2 inches out side the guards......therefore illegal.. I have just had a bucket load of dramas with DOT lately so I can only pass on the fellow QLDers who use their cars as daily drivers to do the right thing.. I got stung for having no rear mudguards, tyres outside the guards, 3in body lift, no DOT plate for roll bar, failure to show rego sticker, no rear number plate light and having non approved seat belts (harnesses). Goes to show that they are a pack of thieves up here.. Nearly $1000 worth of fines and 7 days to have the vehicle 'inspected' to prevent the car from being defected. Sh*t happens so what can I say...

don't worry you WILL get done eventually. Can't increase track width more than 25mm in front and 50mm in rear, swampers are illegal to run on the road

Mine only has a 2 inch body lift (so i dont think it is your mates) also i have a plate for my rollbar and i have now fitted flexy flairs to cover the tyers. I dont think i should have any problems.
