Hey guys,
i notice after changing my brake servo, my LN016 Hilux easily lock the rear brakes. I know its fun especially in the wet but its dangerous in the wrong hands.
Is it normal for the rears to lock so easily on the Hilux?
What could be the problem?
Is my load proportioning valve kaput?
If so how do i check if it is working/ diaganose the problem??
Can it be rebuilt?
Or do u just bin it?
Would it be costly excercise to get my LPV to work?

Help, rear locks easily on the Hilux
My RIG sucks big time.
I have an 89 LN106 SR5 and my rear brakes definately dont lock under normal braking only under hard/emergency and then the front will lock first and I just adjusted my rear brakes two weeks ago, you sure your not leaking brake fluid from one of your wheel cylinders which will get on brake shoes and make them lock sending you sideways fun when you no your in control, under emergency braking will scare the shit out of you very dangerous for yourself and other people??? Worth checking first. Regards Steve M
Well i recently replaced the servo that is twice the size of my original booster.
The brake master pump been service.
And the rear brake pump in the drums have been replaced with new units....
So what else could it be.
It's when i hammer the brakes hard like in an emergency where the rear locks up.
So what else could it be.

rears locking up
I'd be looking at the LPV, not to hard to adjust, try it completely off i.e control rod all the way down, then work back from that, as well as flushing all the lines out very well
