LOw Range gears and Diff breakages

Post by Red Rover »

Has anyone with an 80 Series had issues with diff breakages with or because of low range transfer gears? I want to put them into the auto cruiser, but I don't want to start breaking diffs.

Any help appreciated.

we mod the diffs to make them alot stronger, and save the breakages.

Havent seen one broken we have modded, inc on my 4.5 turbo petrol 80 with 400hp on 36" swampers.

How do you mod them to make them stronger. I had mine reset when the detroit went in to make better contact with the teeth. To date no problems driving it hard.

Also out of interest, what sort of economy do you get out of it with the turbo?

Cheers Greg
