When I start my car up first thing it is blowing black sotty stuff out the exhaust, and the inside of the exhaust is black. It has only just started doing it over the last week or so. Does anyone have any ideas as to the problem..

sounds like theres something wrong with your auto-choke. Black smoke = unburnt fuel

Im not too mechanically minded so i dont know the nitty grittys.

prolly running rich... understandable if its choked... maybe you need to un choke it a little =)

Mine has been doing that too, turns out the carby is leaking fuel internally and is buggered.
