Jimny Suspension lifts and mods

Post by Nick B »

So I am seriously thinking of getting a Jimny as fuel costs a seriously gay at the moment and just going to get worse

I will be bolting 31x10.5x15's on it straight away and maybe running a set of 33" mongrells (for offroad only) that have only been used twice from my landy for offroad.

If disreguarding the 33's for now  will the 4 inch lift from Rancho/toughdog be enough for the 31's what will the cog be like (want an answer from guys that have it fitted) AND CAN YOU JIMNY GUYS POST SOME PICS OF JIMNIES (LOCAL) THAT ARE LIFTED WITH ATLEAST 31'S TO GIVE MA A BETTER IDEA

Any other interesting mods and pics would also be appreciated and yes I love the spec on that greem beast on another thread
Aussie blokes love hard work, they can watch it all day!

Hey nick. My 2 cents on it is. I guess your talking of a big balls offroad kit. I found the springs to be to hard maybe that is just me thoe. A four inch lift should be enough for 31. The guard may need to be trim and little. As well as the bumper. Front left brake hose too. longer For a 1.3 mine still drinks 40 litre tank I will get no more than 300kms For pics and more advice try these sites. www.jimny.se A great form. and pictures http://groups.msn.com/JimnyHeaven

Depending on what you want it to look like you can get 31s under with 2" lift and 1" body lift if you lose the prissy plastic guards and such.
You will need to fix the gearing though. Simple way trialjimny gears and a speedo corrector. Hardcore way replace transfercase with sj one and reduction gears.
