Water tanks added...

I mentioned recently I had added some water tanks to my Roza for when I go on hunting and camping trips...

The green hose is crimped at the end and pushed onto the tap to stop any crap being flung up from getting into the tap outlet.

I used rectangular PVC down piping, round-to-rectangular joiners, round end caps, 2x 20L water drum taps, 4 brass nuts (to hold them firm), 2x the spout thingys for filler tubes and 2x endcaps for the filler tubes.

1x plumbers PVC welding glue

Chrome spray paint

16 zip ties

16 rubber sticky dots (to stop zippies rubbing my bling paint off 8))

Silicone to make any joins watertight

Some bling bling pin striping.

All up cost about say $50...capacity about 20 odd litres.

Given the space limitations all of us Roza drivers have to contend with it means one less item I have to find a nook or cranny for when packing gear in to head off for a weekend...and that's pricesless (as far as I'm concerned ;))

I've got a 6 litre tank underneath made from 100mm PVC pipe- it was the first mod I did. The tap outlet is a ball valve just in front of the passenger side rear wheel (fixed onto the chassis rail) with a standard garden hose click fitting on it. To fill it I just click the garden hose on and wait until the breather on the tank starts spewing water everywhere.

Being underneath (near the exhaust system) you get warm water for washing your hands after a drive- a bit of luxury on a cold day! :lol:

awesome looking rig Bowhunter. :)

i carry a 20ltr water container with me when i go camping/fishing, and it takes up internal space. great idea a external tank. :armsup:

mounting under the body sounds good murcod.

When you did a body lift.. Shouldn't you move the sidesteps up also to gain clearance? and remove the gap left there... Coz i know my steps get caught up on things.
Fair enough the chassis rails are no higher, but the steps would be out of the way then.

what happens when you smash your steps and crush your water tank? Or have you put additional bracing on the steps? Looks good though..

And if the steps get a decent hit, hopefully the tank doesn't damage your sills.

Spot on mate :D or cut zip ties, silicone up and away I go again ;)

I actually accidentally drove over one of the first two tanks I made ( :oops: ) and using the remaining length of pvc and bits nocked up another in no time...
When you did a body lift.. Shouldn't you move the sidesteps up also to gain clearance? and remove the gap left there... Coz i know my steps get caught up on things.

I bought it with the body lift already done and wanted the side steps on...would rather get hung up or bash my sidesteps beyond recognition than bugger my door sils... :lol:

I didnt recommend taking them off man, i asked did you contemplate modifying them to suit the lift.. I've just never seen a car with the steps stock height after a BL.

What did you do to the interior man?? PICS :D
