Airshock setup
just wondering who's experimented with heavier weight oil in their airshocks and what were your results? from what i can gather, 5w is the standard that they come with. has anyone tried filling them with 7 or 10w? if so, how much of it did you run to what pressure?

If you get really keen you can even buy a Valve kit for them and then you can start playing around with them even more!
Still the 14inch but have been fully rebuilt. ( about $40 per kit with shroder valve) I played around with them for bloody ages with all diffrent weights of oil starting with the 5w. If after some good info ring cam from racer inports and ask for Dions number as hes very good with diagnosing set up probs over the phone. Oh and he will fill ya with heaps of info you dont really need aswell

Hmmm, hope my dint pushes out tooWendle wrote:i would think you can experiment with them fairly safely, i don't think 90w gear oil would hurt them ROFL. they seem pretty tough.

As far as the air shox go every thing ive learnt about them has been from reserch and asking the right people ie cam from racer and dion from race shock development. They are the people who helped me out with info on rebuilding the 14s as they were way past due with very leaky seals and not many people at all have ever tryed to rebuild air shox that i know of. But antt as far as setting them up everyone has there own opinion on how to set them up and how/why they like them a certain way. Take all the info you can get and find your own medium.
And speaking of shocks Mandy?
Cheers Jamie

Yeh, i'm running coilovers. Point being??notnot wrote:And speaking of shocks Mandy?
Ohh the ones that were up to you to come and pick up that are probably still sitting at our old place outside on the footpath??
Not mine, so wasn't responsible for transporting them in the move, was mentioned that they needed to be collected
That would be roctoy? If so did he give you any idea on what volume of oil?
How have you been filling them with nitrogen? Or do you have your own bottle and regulator setup allready? If playing around with them to get what seems right to you i would suggest getting a bottle setup with a good reg if you dont allready have one. Will set you back about $600 odd dollers but at least there is no fuss when wanting to adjust pressure or refill them for what ever reason.
