93 Rocky

Post by Vineboy »

I'm getting closer to finding what I'm after but I don't know much about Rockies. Two I'm looking at (1993 and 1995) are both going for around $9000 in Sydney. They seem in good nick. Both TD. What type of suspension set up do they have, can you fit two kids and a car seat across the back seat, are these motors intercooled and general comments please.
Thanks in advance.

Suspension is Torsion Bar IFS and Coil solid axle rear, also they are Intercooled.

As for seating someone else will have to tell you, but if the seat sits on the floor between the wheel well, you have no chance, if it sits on top of the wheel wells then you would fit them in, but still would be squeezy. I would be thinking a bit of a pain to strap a kid into a seat in the back aswell.

Hey mate,

The 1993 model one could be leaf suspension also, depending if it was made before August or not. This is when they changed to IFS/Coil setup.

I cannot praise my Rocky enough, it's one of the best cars I've driven. They have plenty of power for driving around and when offroad they don't go too bad either.
They are easy to lift up a bit and put some bigger tyres under and cope with it well.

The only thing is not lockers, etc.. but if you're not hardcore its okay! :D

The back seats have loads of room! Me and my dad can comfortably sit in the back of my Rocky with the front seats all the way back. Mind you, we are 6'1" and 6'2" tall.
It has heaps more room in the back than my AE92 Corolla by a long shot.

I'm not sure about a baby seat, it'd depend on the type i spose.. but you should take it to the car and trial fit it first before you buy :D

How many kms do they have on them?
9g, especially for the 1995 model is good if the kms and condition is good.
I bought a late 1993 model at the end of last year with 200,000kms and in perfect condition for 11g. It was at a dealer though.

Just take it for a drive and you'll never go back!

If it's still for sale when I go to Sydney I'll give them a run. Thanks for the advice.
