Rocky, mini cuiser, feroza, sportrak.....BERTONE!

Rocky, mini cuiser, feroza, sportrak.....BERTONE!
I'm confused. Here in the Philippines we know them as the Feroza in 16 and 12 valve models. I owned a 93 EL
A relative in the states had a Daihatsu Rocky. On a trip to Tokyo I spotted what looked like a Feroza but was badged as a Toyota Mini Cruiser.
What confused me even more was one I spotted in Rome that sported a Bertone badge! It had an engine that looked similar (the head anyway) to my dad's old Alfa 1750 GTV and had quad H3 round headlamps.
What gives? Anyone know the history of this car? I would understand the Toyota-Daihatsu connection but Bertone??!

Here's that thread:
http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modul ... ht=bertone
A bit more info here: http://www.bertone.it/en/storia_produzione_en.htm
Basically Bertone Freeclimber 1 was a Rocky with BMW petrol and diesel turbo engines; Freeclimber 2 was a Feroza with a BMW 1.6l engine.
Hmmm.... I wouldn't mind getting hold of that grille and headlight assy for something different!

WOah... them Lights on the Fez look really nice...
Yeh that 2.4l Turbo Diesel 6 cyl would get ours moving a bit more hey F70
Imagine how hard it would be to find information on either of them... I thought my Rocky was hard to get parts/info for. They only made a couple of thousand...

I don't think the Toyota Mini Cruiser has been mentioned before though??
Well, a couple of hours ago, I just spotted another one on the road here in Manila. It was obviously another gray import (there have been a rash of so-called legally imported japanese SUVs here). It definitely had a Toyota badge and some wierd nickname.
just saw it too in alabang-zapote road, infront of pure gold. its definitely not a mini land cruiser nor toyota blizard but it has the body of feroza but of different front grill with toyota emblem. a by-stander told me its imported from korea.boyd wrote:murcod wrote:The Bertone's have been talked about on here before. I'll try to get some pix of it if got another chance of seeing it.
Was it white with a fiberglass hardtop and oversize tires? Was it in a car lot for sale? There are lots of imports for sale on that road

There is one of these down the Gold Coast, around Ashmore area. I saw it a couple of years ago. It was badged as a Toyota Blizzard. Check the rear number plate light holder. Also the PTO winch is exactly the same as mine, even down to the factory nudge bar. But the one I saw was a LWB. This one is a SWB.

Toyota blizzards in Australia were re-badged daihatsu f20's, so overseas looks like they just did the same with the f75 etc and called them blizzards.
