Guys, what is the proper way to bleed a diesel fuel system??? Air was getting in from somewhere and I think after four days of searching, have now found and hopfully fixed the leaks (a dogey connection to one of the fileters and found a crack in a injector return line. Problem now is that no matter how hard I try, I cannot bleed all the air from the system (unless there is another leak, grrrrrrrr).
If I'm still getting air in, apart from replacing all the fuel lines including the returns, I'm buggered if I know where it is coming from.

With my 6.2 V8, I just cracked the in fuel line going into the inj pump to make sure fuel was getting to there. Then tightened that back up and cracked all 8 lines at the injectors. Once fuel starts weeping from these when cranking the engine, tighten them up. This should get fuel to the injectors and get you up and running. It may run rough for a min or so until all air is pushed thru the injector lines and starts feeding the engine some fuel.
I can't say this is exactly the correct way to do it(I'm no mechanic!!), but it worked for me.
If you have any problems after that, I'd say call Scotty at Brunswick Deisels in WA. He has always been a bloody good bloke to help out with probs on the chev engines and should be able to point you in the right direction.
