Swift 1.6 16V into sierra

Post by Shane »

Done a heap of searching and found out lots of information about the Vitara 1.6 16V conversion but was curious whether there is anything additional required when using the swift donar engine being as it is mounted east-west.

Cheers

I think the only thing you'll have to change is the exhaust. Everything else should be pretty much the same. Zook60, off the board has done this conversion a couple of times.

You need to swap the cam and dizzy for a vitara unit. Thats about all really. And you will need an exhast manifold from a vitara

you can just use the thermostat housing out of a 1.3l swift it will bolt onto the bit that comes out of the head

I found the same problem with the baleno motor. I had to make my own thermostat housing adapter. No suzuki other suzuki one fitted.

Incorrect there is a standard suzuki item that you can use but im not shore on the exact model. Try suzy four wreckers they know which one is the correct one.

ALTO thermostat housing.but that still leaves the whole assembly facing too far back.plus housing should face horizontal for less chance of air pockets.alto one does not allow you to do this.
