Battery not charging ( original question )
Hi numbnuts, first off I would like to apologise for high jacking your thread.
Next, have you had any resolution to your battery’s problem.
Cheers

I did notice that one of the + cells was a greyish colour and was not bubbling like the rest, this was the dead cell. the warranty stated that not to over charge the battery but said nothing about fully discharging it. does anyone no why these cells just stop working?

its just sumthing that happens to batteries, they all cant be perfect, i find from personel experience on normal car batteries that high current drains seem to cause alot of faults to appear in young batteries. chek the manufacture date on the batteries as its possible they might have been sitting around for a while, its not uncommon. as for warranty its a fault with the battery and they should replace it.
on a side note i was quite enjoying the other thread.

buggy time............
i also enjoyed the other thread but i like to keep things lite, some people seem to loose the meaning of the forum and get way to heavy but i have learned alot from some people on here. the thing to remember is that it may sound like a dumb question to some but its someone just trying to learn, just like every body else started out.

Hi numbnuts, you posted that you had two batteries, from above, I take it that only one was stuffed. If thats the case then surely they must accept that the battery is faulty and as such and it should be up to them to replace it.
Are they giving you grief or just waiting to get an answer from someone else.

it wasn't the fault of the globes, i was told to put a light on once a month (12v/50watt) for 24 hrs then let the trickle charge unit in the van recharge the battery. this was to keep battery in good condition. now i think i will just disconnect the battery until i need it.

Hi numbnuts, if your battery charger has a trickle charge mode then you should be able to leave it on all the time and just check the water level every so often.
Check the manufactures web site for your brand of battery and you should be able to get the correct trickle charge voltage to best maintain your particular battery.
