GU clutch.

Post by Gruntahunta »

Hi all,
Can anyone tell me what sort of clutch & pressure plate the '05 GU 4.2tdi ute's have in them please. Reason i ask is that mine has a habit of slipping if i feed it to it a fair bit, and that is on flat heavy ground. A guy i know just blew the arse out of his yesterday. From what i hear the pressure plate is worth a kings ransom on it's own. Is there a better setup for them???

Any help here would be appreciated guys!..............Pete!

What!!!!! Take it to my friendly local Nissan dealer . Funny man....... I won't even get it serviced there. If the clutch blows i will get it fixed myself and pay whatever it costs. It is not worth the drama of taking it there................Pete!

I could tell you what they would say to that one! I love their fourbies but hate their service. I'm sure they have a photo of me in every office in Qld....

I don't think clutch would be covered under warranty.

If your looking for a good clutch to handle extra power and tyer sizes try the Dakin Safari Tuff Clutch or the All Terrain Clutch from clutch Induistries.
These are the best on the market at this time.

gu clutch

Post by Hutch »

Hi I have the 2000 gu ute, also had clucth probs early on. I took mine to Payless Transmissions at Albion in Bris. They upgraded the pressure plate springs to compensate for my heavy foot and the turbo. Works a treat now and has done for about 5 years.
cheers
