A Socket set Extension piece if need be ... if its reall tight, wack it a few times with a hammer to loosen the bond that might have built up over the years between thread/hole. Or just drill em out, your going to replace em anyways4x4xmore wrote:how do you get the bolt out to replace it with the longer one for body lift
If access is the trouble, have a look on the inside of the body too.

i can get the nut undone but how do you get the bolt out to replace it with the longer one ( i camt find the top of the bolt)
use vicegrips
do double locking nut method... etc
once its out u can reuse the middle mounting bolts on the front and rear.
so u only have to buy 6-150mm metric fine 8.8 grade.
when u end up doin the body lift dont forget to fill the blocks with grease
or the bolts will rust out over time from the inside being filled with water.

I think your assuming that it is a bolt that drops down from above somewhere. Well it isn't a bolt. It is a stud. It does not have a head on it. It is threaded on both ends. The stud screws up into a captive nut that is welded to the body. The captive nut is not accessable unless you drill a hole in the rear panel underneath where the back door closes. You need to either get a stud remover to remove it or tighten a nut against another nut to remove it.
