LN 61 Aircleaner

Post by ash_on_mtb »

I'm trying to free up some room in the engine bay 2.4td for another battery, and have an enormous air cleaner filling up the space behind the headlight, where I want a second battery to reside... I"ve seen a different air cleaner around, one thats smaller and sits further back. Does anyone know if I'm on the right track, if there is two types that fit basically in the same location, yet take up diffferent space? I've heard that an 89 LN61 one would come close, but surely someone else has had experience with this problem.

84 4runner LN61. snorkel and ARB turb's kit.

cheers.

I took the standard air cleaner out and replaced it with a Donaldson Air Filter. ---- Gave me plenty of room to put in the duel battery.
But be carefull how you mount the battery bracket - mine split the guard.

On the ninth wrecker phone call, I found what I need. I'll take some pics as I go, but rest assured I got reamed in the price department. Its amazing what you have to pay when 'stocks' are limited... Damm grey imports... :bad-words:

Still, away on the next project :)

Bit of a grave dig.
Does anyone know the range of models that had this style of aircleaner?
Does it have to be an 89 surf?
Also Im trying to remember what my mates 5LE Lux has got. Im sure it has something simillar?
Cheers
Paul.
