Funny neither does a 1.6l engine. Think about it, custom engine mounts.joeblow wrote:don't waste money on a 1.3.go the 1600 and you will love it.besides a 1.3 tbi does not comply with adr rules.
Sure you can engineer them which is ' ADRing' so why not ADR a tbi?
Other things like extractors although designed as factory replacement they change the characteresics of the factory setting so how do you prove the engine still meets it's original ADR?
Bluezook go TBi, spend the rest on extractor and a torquey cam. Maybe you will never supercharge but it will be set for it . If you motor is strong don't chuck it out. How often do you do speeds legally over 110km?
(oh yeah and the whole tbi works on angles blah blah what everyone says

Yeah but you can get to pass emissions just like you can get an engineer to pass engine mounts. You just have to prove that the engine emmissions are equivelant to your year model standard (or better). The whole reason why japan and USA switched to throttle body was so that it passed emmission standards!

I have heard this before as well, My engineer wouldn't let me use an import spec 4AGE motor in my Zook, it had to be Aussie spec, or converted to Aussie spec (computer and whatever else was different).
But how do you engineer a VH45 in a Patrol?

I know of at least one engineered on straight gas - so that's one way.CRUSHU wrote:joeblow wrote:i'm not talking about engineering guidlines which covers instalation.if a motor was not offered in australia,in an ausie spec car than the tbi motor does not meet adr rules for emissions.you can get away with this by running straight gas but that defeats the purpose.

Can't imagine there are many VH45's from aus spec Q45's sitting in wreckers

whats with all the negative comments guys? It seems to be the norm lately that when ever someone asks a question or asks for advice everyone gets real political and negative.
Who really cares if he doesnt get it ADR'd or whatever. Im sure nearly everyone on here is driving an illegal vehicle in some way. Like who on here has made their own front bars and had a propper crash-test done on it to see if it passes, or upgraded and engineered the brakes to suit the bigger rubber we all run?
This site used to be really good but lately it has gone downhill
P.S. not everyone is like this but it seens to be comming a majority.
