Home made rear bumper for SURF

Post by Clown Boy »

Hi guys,

So I got my truck backfrom the panel beaters and they did a great job on the panels and I now have a new Hayman Reese hitch towbar.

However, the imported rear wheel carrier did not fit so I got paid out for that.

All I wanted was a simple rear bar with wheel carrier and I decided to make my own.

I have seen heaps of tips of Outerlimits so do not need advice on the rear wheel carrier bit at this stage.

HOWEVER, am I oversimplfying things by planning to make a rear bumper by buying some C bar steel and having it cut\bent so it goes from rear wheels to rear corner and across back. Then I can fab some brackets out of 10mm plate to bolt it on.

I cannot find any pics on the net but I am sure people have done this before.

Thoughts?
