What the F*%^ is that noise?
Hi guys,
You'l probably be able to guess that I'm a novice when you read this but my hilux 4x4 makes a weird noise and I was hoping that someone could help me diagnose the problem.
When I turn into a driveway (wheels at 45 degrees) left or right turn, the front end makes a noise that sounds like a creaky old metal door
Hard to explain. It's not the suspension or the CV but would someone know what other componentry it could be. The other thing, I did a three-point-turn the other day and it sounded like the same noise came from the back end!
Any ideas? Any wheel and suspension experts out there... The truck's a 95 model and done 174000 soft klms so I don't expect that it is major suspension damage. Could it be something to do with the leaf suspension?

dude all hiluxs have this if u look under the front when the wheels are on full lock u can see the steering bump stop hitting another part, which when u turn left of right on full lock its makes a loud CRUNCH/CREAKING sound.
The rubber stops are old falling off, u can get it fixed but there no point
if u dont want it to do it, go as much as the sterring wheel turns then go the other way about 1 degree and it dont do it.

Nice gq swb ute chop with a huffer for the good times
I have a noise which could be described in the same way but occurs when the front wheels are turned and I go over a bump (into a driveway etc)
Only happened after I had the OME susp fitted and a mate with a FJ40 had the same thing with OME.
Visited my uncle who does all his own work on a BJ60 and heard it in his too. He said it was the U bolts a little loose rotating the tinyest bit on the axel. Haven't had mine tightened to find out but it sounds like the same thing
