Pics of garden edging flares

Post by ash_on_mtb »

Anyone got some pics of home style flares, I'm about to throw some on, just looking for tips and tricks, they are only going to be little, but tossing up between tech screws and pop rivets...? Tips, tricks, f$%k ups?

I use roofing nuts/bolts thru the metal rim that normally holds the original flares.
Bunnings flares are quite tuff, need to be held on well, as when it hits a bank, it can tear smaller fittings off.

sharp tech screws could be a problem there?

I use a thin strip of 1mm ally and sandwiched the garden edging between the ally and the flair and rivoted every 100mm

The garden edging was cut into half as I didn't need that much width

I also used plastic edging from mitre10 mega. It was 150mm wide which i had 120mm flared out and it worked great, except.... doesnt allow any movement so make sure your tires still hang out a little, i know most would say if defeats the purpose, but it they finish flush with your tires then you will end up crushing your guards. I also ran a neat bead of silicone around wear it joined the guard, look factory nearly.
