Clutch price?

Post by Jmac »

Hi Fellas,

Can someone enlighten me on the approximate price of replacing the clutch on my '95 Hilux 4x4 LNR107R.

I've got a mortgage to pay and am counting every penny

Cheers

really depends where you go and what clutch you use (HD or Std) i did std clutch recently and spent about $250 on parts and did the labour myself. The shops wanted anywhere from $600 ish to about $850.

The labour was a major PITA but not worth $350 when on a budget. HINT - Get a clutch alignment tool.!!!

got my 03 lux clutch replaced with a heavy duty Safari (not a Safari Tuff cos they dont make for this newer model, but you shouldnt have a problem) for about $300. Labour by a mechanic, including replacing my big end rear bearing seal (??name) while the tranny out was just over $800.

Would $1100 for a genuine toyota clutch installed be fairly reasonable? (HJ75) Should i expect any flywheel machining for this price? I believe the clutch itself is worth around $550.

I wouldnt be installing a new toyota clutch for $550. That will get you a safari tuff clutch for a 2h and some change. As for labour, $250-$300 would be reasonable.
If you want a spare 60 for bits-
