What else can be done with a 2" lift on IFS LUX?

Post by mmaaxx »

G'day all,

Seeing as there are many experienced fourby modifiers on this forum I'd like to put a problem to you with the hope of some sort of resolution......

Not including the modified control arm 4" lifts that are available by superlift and snake racing etc. and considering that the 98-2004 hilux IFS's can only be lifted 2" on the front and 2 or 3" on the rear, are there any other suspension mods that can be done to increase of road ability with the limitation of the IFS and leaf-springs rear?

I know you might be able to do a coil spring rear conversion - has anyone done this on a late model lux? how much?

Also, what are the biggest tyres you can fit on these hilux's? I got BFG AT's 265/75x16 and have slightly trimmed the rear of the front guards and occasionally they rub on the edge of the swaybar-I dont understand how some people can run 32/11.5x15's when they are wider than these?

Pics would help heaps too?

Max.

Check out the body lift question in the toyota page.

you will see pic of mine and other 2" bodylifted 4 runners.

Both trucks run 33" tyres.

with planning the body lift only took me about 12 hours over a weekend.

Cheers
