05' Triton GLX-R ... problems ?

Post by Triton05 »

HI,
New to here, I have a 05' D/C triton GLX-R V6, and would like to know if anyone else has had any problems with theirs.
The main problem i have at the moment is when going around cornders/turning, there is a loud clunking/knocking noise, im not sure if it is coming from the front or back, but can be felt in the seat or with feet on the floor.... taking it back to dealer, but any ideas would be a great help.

Also, what are the triton's like going throught headlight hight water, are they very water tight, do any areas leak ?

Thanks.

I have the '03 which is basically an identicle vehicle... Never had the clunk thing. Had it with water lapping at the windscreen a couple of times now with a blind over the front and never got a drop inside. The tailgate is another story though, very hard to dust/water proof these...

Mate, apparently this is a common problem. My triton occasionally makes this sound when it is wet from a wash, rain or river crossing. The sound goes away after the vehicle dries so it doesn't bother me- although I would like to know what it is- let us know if you find out ;)

Check the L200 UK website (forgotten the address)- it is mentioned quite a lot without any real explaination, but again it hasn't cause a problem for me.

I thought it was just water messing with the ABDS. Get the same thing when wet, but vanishes pretty quick and never had a prob otherwise.

Interested to know if it is anything else...

While I am here, anyone have probs with bonnet vibration?
I love going around to the school and watchin the kids run and scream. They don't know i am using blanks! -FG

hey triton05

I have had the same problem took it back to the dealer the first time and they said it was loose ball joint . :? took it home it had the same noise :bad-words: took it back again they had it for four day' trying to find what it was . In the end they replaced rear shocker's pulled the axles out thinking it was axle shims then pulled down leaf spring's packed them full of grease got it back no more noise. :P The funny thing about this whole story is i told them i thought its was the leaf spring's but that was the last thing they looked at. :P

Not toataly sure what they have done to the leaf springs still waiting for the report but all well so far 1 week back with it .

If your dealer is unsure tell them to contact Knox mitsubishi victoria they can tell them all about it.

just like to add this was happening wet or dry
