4 Runner woes
I am new to this forum however I find it very informative.
I do have a problem that I am hoping someone can help me with. I have a 1986 Toyota 4 Runner which is fitted with a 1994 VR V6 Commodore motor and the auto gearbox. When it is running well it is a joy to drive but I have had to replace 4 crank angle sensor units over the past 5 years. According to the mechanic it appears that the sensors are getting a power spike which are frying the units but the mechanic cannot figure out how.
Has anybody else out there experienced this problem and if so, what can I do to fix it before my wife drives the car over the nearest cliff. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

2005 HDJ100 Manual, ARB bar, XD9000 winch, ARB rooftop tent + awning, Drawers, Engel, 2" OME lift, 285/75R16 KM2's, iCom, HID XGT's.
Since it has had an engine swap I would be saying the same as others and make sure you have plenty of earths all over the damn thing.
To the Engine, chassis, gearbox, throttlebody, even run one from the CAS to the chassis.
Check your plus and wiring loom as well for a bad wire, look for anysort of modification or repair along the loom.

Thanks for the information. I'll spend the weekend running more earth wires. Just a question, what is the CAS (is this an acronym for something?). What do you mean by a guard over the trigger and what purpose would this achieve? Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
