37" maxxis on a GU

Post by joe crothers »

My brother has a GU with a standard 4.2 diesel (no turbo), he has just
had his diff ratios changed to 4.625's. He has been thinking of running
37" Maxxis Creepy Crawlies. My question is, with the 4.625 ratios and no
turbo, will his standard diesel turn into a slug on and off road? Or will
it handle them no worries.
cheers Joe

Mate the 4.2s like a bit of load and with the diff change and the bigger tyers dont be suprised if you feel it goes better with the bigger rubber.
I had one in a GQ non turbo and when i put the boat on (16ft tinni) it pulled alot better but dont get to greedy as to much and you will kill it.
Cheers Darren

by normal diff gears he means 4.1's and with ya foot to the floor down hill its flat out making 130, 4.6's will help a fair bit if yourve got them. Bu ti do agree not to run the creepys on the road, they will chew up badly.
