Help pls. Have 91 NH SWB Paj unable disable alarm & imob

Post by bluecraka »

Hi All,

Really hoping someone can give me some suggestions here. My pajero suffered a flat battery after not been in use for a week, got it started and than that went ok that night seemed okay too but next day, when I went to unlock it with the remote it wouldn't unlock, thought battery might be flat test okay with meter and chuched charger on for a couple hours after that aswell. Still wouldn't unlock with remote, alarm sounds when door opens, last for about 3-5minutes before comepletely halting the siren and lights, so me thinking maybe alarm became disable tried to start sounds like plenty of juice in battery but immobiliser still enabled a engine doesn't sound like its going to fire. Thought probablem may have been remot even though led indicator on that appeared okay, so I replace the remote battery and I still have the same problem, if open door alarm goes off for 3-5minutes before completely halting.

Going to reconnect battery contacts incase improper contact and earth is occuring, and also chek door lock fuses in morning.

But if anyone else has experienced this or has any suggestions can you please adviise.
Thanks sorry for long post.

Anyway, found the bloody alarm, disconnected it and removed, now am able to start the pajero. Anyone know if the 91NH SWB had alarm as standard and also any info on wiring for it?

I've never heard of a factory security system in NH. I'd say it's aftermarket.

Somewhere in the system of the alarm, there will be an overide switch.
It is usually hidden, up under the dash. After you have located this switch,
what you need to do is, connect the alarm, open the door, when the alarms sounds, start the car with one hand, and flick the switch with the other. This will overide the system, and you should be back to normal

What brand of alarm??

I have a sentry that requires a key to be placed in the back of the siren box (I think) to reset the system.
When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading

Experience is something you don't get, until just after you need it.

The keys usually just turn off the siren, the alarm is still going mad silently
