why do you want a v8 deisel, are you doing alot of towing?
if your doing alot of towing they are good but if you drive it every day and tow some times the toyota multi valve turbo 6cly goes very well.
we have drag raced the turbo 6 against the turbo v8 chev and the toyota turbo 6 beat it evey time.

I've been looking at the same thing since the better half cooked the 1HZ, and the V8 diseasel is cheaper to get then a 1HDFT.
When drag racing them, are they both stock engines, or have they been touched in any way?
Not too much involved in the V8D conversion, have a look at the Linquip site and they have a DIY page on it. They are 17k drive in drive out thought.
