3.5 ARB Airlocker Update.

Post by Bitsamissin »

Ok I spoke with my contact at ARB today and the news is good.
The 3.5 V6 airlocker is definitely going ahead and work is well advanced and with a bit of luck it could be available by the end of the year.
They already have an IRS rear centre to compare with the live axle sample Ian Sharpe provided.
They only need a rear axle from a Gen 2 3.5 V6 which I will be sending soon.
Some interesting things :-
- the 3.5 V6 and IRS rear diff centres are essentially the same except that the IRS is 33 spline vs live axle 31 spline.
- Hyundai Terracan also has the same rear centre but is 34 spline.
- one common diff centre with the matching side gears will cover these 3 models.
- current model Triton has the same rear diff as a Gen 2 3.5 V6 Paj so the rumoured factory option locker will work in a Gen 2 3.5 V6 Paj.

Great news Frank, thanks for making the enquiries.

Yeah I thought the Triton rear diff lock might be a goer, apparantly its a $500 option with new vehicle purchase, but I doubt that Mitsu would sell it for that price as spare parts.

By the time you bought the hemispere, left axle & pump, I reckon you would be well over $2k.

cheers
