Not a jackaroo, but an MU, fairly similar, have put a 3" body lift on it a fairly simple job.
Cost me about $300 all up doing it myself, not sure how much it would cost to get someone to do it. But this is the easiest way to get extra rubber underneath.
There are also some simple and some extreem mods that can be done
Like cranking the torsion bars and getting lifted springs 4 the back or
Solid axel swap at the front and link setup front and back!!!

Mine's what they call a 2nd gen Jackaroo/Trooper which means the newer shape from 92 - early 97. Similar suspension setups to the 1st gen except for the leaf rear suspension on the earlier models. Newer Jacks have coil rear and torsion front. I have a 2" Toughdog suspension setup which works well for me and have had no probs with cv angles (touch wood ). A 2" lift has been enough for me to be able to fit 32" tyres in which again has added to the overall lift. I do know of others that have gone 3" or more and have experienced problems with cvs.
Calmini from the USA put out a kit which includes an upper control arm replacement that reduces the angle of the cv. It is fairly expensive but is available in Australia if you want to go that way. Here is a link to a supplier in Perth:

I think that you only need to go to that extreme if you are going 3" suspension lift or more. Otherwise just go the cranked t-bars upfront (approx 2") with some longer shocks and shackle extension and longer shocks in the rear. Alternatively you could go a SOA lift (Spring over axle lift). I have a question for you MRMAXI,WHY do you want that particular model of JACKAROO????
They are a PIG of a four wheel drive!! And are responsable for the low volume of JACKAROO's sold in OZ.(OK holdens marketing or lack of also didnt help) They are underpowered, thirsty,prone to rusting,have the earo-dynamics of a house brick and as WESTROOPA mensioned are leafsprung in the rear.
The lifted models you have see have MOSTLY had a LIVE AXLE CONVERSION done! BIG BUCKS $$$$ Why not buy a 92+ model and get a head start??

I couldnt agree more with u WOLF. I own an early model jackaroo and its true, its thirsty on 31's, ruff ride, not reliable however mine has been pretty good on rust. It has been a good first 4WD though and with a few mods it has gotten places that ppl said it couldn't. i guess it comes down to what u can afford. At the moment i am wanting to sell mine and upgrade to a 92+ Jackaroo. So MRMAXI if u can hold out a couple more months of saving u will save your self alot of sweat and tears.

Ditto, the 2nd gen post 92 model is a far superior vehicle. Would have suggested it also but thought there must obviously be budgetary constraints. 92+ model are getting damn cheap these days though. Been seeing them in the paper for as low as $9999!

2002 WIDETRACK JACK,I have a 2" lift LOVELL REAR COILS with RANCHO RS 9000 shocks (with IN-CAB adjustor )
I am thinking about fitting a 30mm bodylift also?? The JACKS have a fair bit of room under the guards as is so I maybe able to fit 285/75 16's to it,but will have to go 1" wider in the rim to a 16"x8".Problem I have come across is the CRAP products we have in OZ.Did you know we only have a choice of about 4 different rims that suit a JACKAROO ??and they are still 16"x7".
Apparently the wheels of a NISSAN PATROL (the alloys off the GU model)fit and have the same stud pattern???????

Still holding out, final decision should be only a week away, I was interested in the 2.6 powered jackaroo's because they go for dirt cheap these days and are pretty good to drive as a daily, I figure they would be suitable for light offroad etc. A mate of mine has one from his dad which has just clocked over 400,000km with the original motor and box, the diff is now starting to show some ware other than that they haven't had any problems with it, i know the old 2ltr and 2.3 are pretty gutless but they're also good value considering you can pick one up in melb for 2k with little or no rust. The V6 powered ones are more than what i want to spend atm

The pattern is the same 6 stud pattern as the Patrols, Landcruisers, Hilux etc... I have 15x8" rims on my Jack. Reason I went that way is for the greater range/availability of tyres. I say go with some 15" rims and 33x12.5x15 tyres instead.

I have a mate with a new GU it has the wheels I like too.Although I didn't realise they where 15".
Will have to see if they fit around my break disc's as the newer model Jack have upgraded their suspension and breaks.Will let you know!

P.S. If anyone is interested I have a set of REAR KING SPRINGS that I fitted to the JACK about three months ago,they were a bit to soft for my liking so I went to the heavy LOVELLS.(KINGS are MEDIUM)
Front suspension lift was done by Tbar crank as common on IFS Isuzus, however the biggest problem when cranking that much is camber going out of whack.
First off, the Acura model of the Isuzu is simalar to your wide track what I understand, In fact the ARB bumper that is on there is issued for a 96 Trooper/Jack based on Oz specs and it is too narrow by 1.5 inches on each side. See pic:
Before cranking your Tbars it is nessacary to do a Balljoint flip, this pushes your camber somewhat back in alignment The BJ flip alone will allow you to run the 265/75s but pushing to 33's your gonna need more. Thats where the BJ spacer comes in that Matt sells from Indy4x (www.independent4x.com) This allows your camper to come back to center after a crank allowing you to run 33's.
The rear coils are OME 912's with a 1" policy spacer. Sold as a 2.5 inches lift but after installed it measured 3.5 inches over stock.

I used Skykacker shocks over OME due to better front travel and cheaper than OME.
