HJ61 12h-t intercooler

Post by wgw76gd »

Guys,

By the looks of the archives a few people seems to have custom made some of these..

Anyone got any info on what is required and/or involved..

Thanks in advance

Just buy the biggest one you can fit between the headlights, you will have to remove your front grille to fit it in. There should be enough room to run some 2-1/2" pipes, probably have to cut 2 holes in the front skirt thingo.

heres some ona HJ60, shouldnt be too much different on a 61, perhaps might be more room since the square headlights arent as tall as the round ones.

Shadow has already linked you to my old setup in my cruiser.

It was recently retrofitted into a 1988 model HJ60, with the twin headlights. It was infact more of a squeeze, and required a few alterations to the front apron to get the 3 inch pipes through.

Having said that, the intercooler looks better in the later model cause it basically fully replaces the front grill.
If you want a spare 60 for bits-
