Finally, after being sick of watching the boy racers in their doof doof machines with the bloody good LED tailights I have done the deed myself.

The problem is, they dont make a genuine aftermarket unit for the disco, so, being the 4x4 people that we are, I have had to adapt. I'm happy with the outcome.

problem is, no reverse lights anymore - bring on the Hella worklamps! I'm thinkin HID hehehe *teehee

Technically, the surrounds are 3mm ali plate, the bolts and nuts are stainless 1/8"
the local rubber shop had some U shaped profiled rubber strip to place on the inside of the plates.

Like the replacement tailights etc,
You can fix the reversing light issue with a couple of the halogen downlights. I found a couple of screw fix, flat mount fittings, fitted with 50w covered lamps. Mounted them into holes I cut in the rear bar. Added a relay to save the reversing light switch and wiring, and now have 100w reversing lights to show me where I am going.

yup and the chances of them busting are very slim cause the two brakets i made on the inside to hold them are ali and if a good push was placed on teh lights they would go back inside the rig. then i would lean inside and give them a firm push back out. - well, that's my theory anyway.....

LED's look cooooooooool when working. and fully waterproof!

oh the only hassle, is because you are dropping from 21 watts to 5 watts on the indicator the blinkers flash really REALLY fast, you need to fit a resistor across the pos and neg or pos to earth of the indicator wires. and a decent resistor, but only about $7 bucks worth NZ dollars - so whats that - a dollar in oz?! hehehe
