tb42 valve adjusting proceedure

Post by jessie928 »

Gidday,

I dont have my manual here and i need to give the valve adjusting proceedure to someone. If anyone has it could they please post it up. It is .38mm but i need to know which valves to adjust with no 1 at TDC
I dont have a cam i can look at close by either....

Also, it might be good to add it in the "bible" aswell

Thanks in advance,
Jes

:) The valve adjusting procedure is the same for any inline six. Get number one valves on the rock and adjust nunber six valves. Get number two valves on the rock and adjust number five valves an so on

1) Make sure the engine is warmed up to operating temperature

2) Rotate the crankshaft so the motor is at top dead centre

3) Adjust valves 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 & 10 as counted from the front

4) Rotate the crankshaft 360 degrees

5) Adjust valves 4, 5, 8, 9, 11 & 12

6) Check and repeat if you doubt yourself :)

Thanks to Mr Haynes
