GV suspension & BL

Post by oldzook »

Hi all,
Looking to get a late 90's GV 2.5 V6 and of course I can't just leave it be can I?
So from searching (boy have I done some research on these) Calmini arms seem the goods to sort camber issues but I see that OME is recommended for struts due to extra length.
Found a link http://www.4xfourart.com/eng_vitara.asp to these knock offs which can be bought individually. Sounds good as I don't waste money buying bits I may not want. Has anybody tried these?
Now I had konis on my Sierra so I may be just fussy but how do the OME struts feel on the Vitaras? Is it just a trade off where they are going to spoil the ride for extra travel, or are they actually ok in this model? See, my Disco came fitted with OME shocks and they just feel extremely harsh, i hate em. Also had a mate with them on a troopy and same (talked him into koni and it was a different animal).
Just interested in feedback before I shell out as only want to do this setup once on this car.
Body lift. Can anyone on here sell me a 50mm kit ready to go?
If I can safely get one of these things up about 5-6" total including 30" tyres and lock it I think it will suit what I do. ;)

thanks in advance fellas

Everybody warned me. I listened hard and nodded. I shuddered. I wept.

Dan, I have some stuff you might need.

Anything over a 2" body is hard to do in a GV because of the front and rear bars. I have 1 " in mine and it was just right.

You dont want too much extra length in the front struts cause you will then pull the CV out of the diff housing.

As for that link is there GV parts cause the front arms are different.

I can also sell you a full 2" suspension setup.

Tough Dog Coils, Rancho Adj Rear Shocks and new calmini front struts if you like. ;)
