Brake shoes

have problem getting the right brake shoes. have tried 4 different model no.s the last one i had to grind a bit off to make them fit. they lasted 3 night runs approx 600ks. my mate has the same problem, it is a 91 serria. anyone know the right model no or part no. cheers ron

There is around 5 different types of rear shoes, even suziworld gets it wrong sometimes. Can't go on year or model, as people change things around, and even same years can have different types. Best to take in old shoes and get them matched, or reco'd.
Most decent brake shops have pictures to match shoes with.
I'm fairly sure the self adjusters have to match the shoes, too.

Rear shoes don't last long off road, even when all is in good nick, but should do better than that.
But if they are a bad fit, that could wear em very quick.

if you have the standard diff and brakes in it then you need the BB1617 rear brake shoes. i have had similar problems with the rear brakes too and these are the correct ones for the Wt sierra with the single brake line going onto the diff.

a bit of a drive from you but I normally get my brakes from "prahan brake and clutch (just off chapel street) if he doesnt have any in stock, (he probably will) then he will rebond your old ones by the next day. last time I think he charged me about $20 for the set.
