Tray ideas for the 60

Post by dansTOYOwagon »

YES!! Need some ideas for the tray on my 60 (see members area if this doesn't quite sound right to you ;) )

The tray will only be about 1200 long
Will have a roll bar

Not too sure on what to do with width. I am pretty sure I will make it a couple of inches wider than the cab, but should I make it wide enough to cover the tires. Will be cruiser diffs with 3" spacers, and 15x8's with 12.5's. So they will hang out a fair way.

Also for the roll bar, I am thinking of just making the supports come diagonally down the outer sides of the main hoop(s), all the way to the back corner of the tray. The main reason being if I eventually need, I can put mesh or something in the triangles, to keep stuff on the (little) tray. Also would prolly look a little neater that way, with them going all the way to the back

Thoughts/ideas/suggestions

Also, does anyone have the links to pages of trays on utes that were posted up here once. Or anything similar??

Cheers. Dan

What he said.

Bobbed 75 tray might work since the 60 and 75 were both styled by the same design studio in Milan :D

Can you make one out of the old rear 1/4s, rear doors and tailgate?

You could make a tapered tray out of 100x75 rhs. Tapered - Same width as the cab at the front of the tray, taper it out to full width of track, straight section over wheels, then taper back to width of chassis at rear.

.....| CAB |
.....|_______|
..../.....T...... \
../.......R.........\
.|.........A.........|
.|.........Y.........|
..\................../
....\________/

Not to scale...
Built, not bought.
